Introduction
Jagat Arts, Commerce and Indiraben Hariharbhai Patel Science College, Goregaon run under the management of Bahujan Hitay Jagat Shikshan Sanstha, Gondia. The society start this institute in such rural area with graduate programmed affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University Nagpur in the year 1992. The Department of chemistry has been established in the same year 1992 and Dr. S T Nandeshwar has been appointed and taken a charge as ‘Head’ with opening of the institution.
Afterwards, Dr. G K Bhagat and Dr. S S Rahangdale appointed as an assistant professor in the year 1996 and 1998. The Department also has two non-teaching supporting staff who works as a laboratory assistant Mr. Khurmaraj Katre and Mr. Shyamrao Sendre from opening of the institution.
The Department runs under graduate course with a group of Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics. The Department has decided to introduce several exciting branches of chemistry resembling environmental chemistry, polymer chemistry and medicinal chemistry.
